Samsung Electronics is creating a new RX Business Office reporting directly to co-CEO Roh Tae-moon, centralizing its robotics operations and signaling a broader international push. The company also plans to establish robotics research hubs in the United States, China, and Japan. Dongkun Lee, a former Hyundai Motor Group robotics executive who oversaw Boston Dynamics, will lead the robotics strategy team, while Seoul National University professor Hyoun Jin Kim and Ajou University professor Uikyum Kim have also been recruited. The new office will be based at Samsung's Seoul research campus in Umyeon, with continued investment in robotics infrastructure and a planned data factory at its Gumi site to accelerate robot deployment.
