Samsung Electronics reclaimed the top position in the global DRAM market during the second quarter, capturing 39% of revenue according to Counterpoint Research. SK Hynix ranked second with 26%, down sharply from 39% a year earlier, while Micron Technology followed closely at 25%, leaving it only one percentage point behind its Korean rival. Counterpoint senior analyst Jeongku Choi noted that Samsung benefited from robust demand and price hikes in conventional DRAM and is also expanding its share in the high-bandwidth memory segment. Micron's DRAM revenue has increased fivefold since the second quarter of 2025, positioning it to challenge for second place. The results suggest the memory recovery is broadening beyond high-bandwidth memory, with stronger conventional DRAM pricing improving industry revenue and AI infrastructure demand tightening supply of higher-value memory products.
