Samsung Electronics Co LtdSamsung raised foundry prices 10-15% on selected advanced orders, which could improve its loss-making foundry business.

Samsung Electronics shares dropped 7.8% to 247,500 won even as the company raised prices on selected advanced foundry orders by 10% to 15%. Customers in China and the United States are reportedly accepting the increases on 4-, 5- and 8-nanometer orders, and Samsung's Pyeongtaek 4-nanometer operation is running at full capacity as buyers seek alternatives to fully booked TSMC production. The foundry business has been losing money since 2022, but full factories plus higher prices could begin to change that. Samsung's semiconductor division generated 127.5 trillion won in second-quarter revenue and 89.2 trillion won in operating profit, driven largely by memory. The company's GF Score is 83 out of 100, with growth leading, though its valuation score remains weak.
