Samsung Electronics announced on July 22 at its product launch event Galaxy Unpacked in London that it plans to make its digital wallet Samsung Wallet compatible with stablecoins. This would make it one of the first major mobile brands to integrate stablecoin functionality as a standard feature on smartphones. The plan was revealed alongside the announcement of the Galaxy Card, a credit card offered in the United States in partnership with Barclays and Visa. However, the company did not disclose which stablecoins or blockchains will be supported, the launch date, target countries and regions, compatible devices, or specific usage methods, and made no mention of availability in Japan.
