SCG Cement-Building Materials, or SCG CBM, is moving forward with upgrading its Q-CON plant in Songkhla province into ASEAN's first smart aerated concrete production base under the Smart and Green Manufacturing concept, using fully automated systems across the entire process from raw material management and production to product arrangement. The plant has a production capacity of 3.9 million square meters per year to support growth in the southern Thai and ASEAN construction markets, while developing Q-CON products, aerated concrete blocks for southern Thailand, that help save up to about 30 percent on electricity costs and have received a carbon footprint reduction label. Mr. Viroj Rattanachaisit, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SCG CBM, said the business is accelerating its strengthening through four key strategies: Customer Centric, Portfolio Management, Operational Excellence, and Sustainability and Export Expansion, to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver high-quality products at competitive prices.
