SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, or SCGP, has announced a project to expand production capacity for gypsum board paper at its plant in Kanchanaburi province through its subsidiary Siam Kraft Industry Company Limited, with a total investment budget of 9.846 billion baht. The expansion will add 400,000 tonnes of annual capacity, with commercial operations expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2028. The company noted that this product requires advanced technology and expertise, so there are only a limited number of producers, while global demand for gypsum boards is expected to grow alongside the use of lightweight construction materials. Dao Securities has a neutral view on the investment, maintaining its 2026 net profit forecast at 6.4 billion baht, up 58 percent from the previous year, and keeping a buy recommendation with a target price of 35.00 baht.
