SCG Packaging, or SCGP, reported a second-quarter 2026 core profit of 2.335 billion baht, up 51 percent from the previous quarter and 135 percent from a year earlier, exceeding analyst and market forecasts by about 17 and 22 percent respectively. The key driver was the packaging business in Indonesia under Fajar, which swung to a profit for the first time in four years after raising selling prices closer to market levels, along with higher sales volume in the Packaging Paper segment reaching 1.04 million tonnes. Yuanta Securities' research team raised its 2026 core profit forecast by 16 percent to 6.76 billion baht and lifted its end-2026 fair value to 35.00 baht per share, upgrading its recommendation from Trading to Buy, citing continued profit growth momentum for the rest of the year.
