South Korea's Kospi soared more than five percent in a tech-led surge across Asia on Thursday after US chipmaker Micron Technology issued a revenue forecast that far exceeded expectations. Micron projected fourth-quarter revenue of $50 billion, well above the roughly $43 billion analysts had anticipated, reigniting confidence in the artificial intelligence sector. SK hynix jumped 13 percent and Samsung gained more than five percent, pushing the Kospi past six percent at one point, while Tokyo's Nikkei rallied over four percent. The rally was also supported by a further drop in oil prices to below pre-war levels amid optimism over US-Iran peace talks and more ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude fell to a low of $72.24 a barrel, below its close on the day before the US and Israel began bombing Iran in late February.
