South Korean memory chip giant SK Hynix began offering American depositary shares at $149 per share on July 10, raising $26.5 billion in the largest listing ever by a non-American company. The company holds a 56% market share in high-bandwidth memory chips essential for artificial intelligence and reported first-quarter revenue of 52.6 trillion Korean won, a 198% year-over-year increase. SK Hynix plans to use the proceeds to expand manufacturing capacity amid surging AI demand, with the global memory market projected to reach $633 billion in 2026. The ADS listing attracted strong U.S. investor interest, though each ADS represents only one-tenth of a Korean share and the forward price-to-earnings ratio has edged up to 10.
