Micron Technology, SanDisk, and Western Digital each fell 6% on Monday after a weak second-quarter profit estimate for South Korea’s SK Hynix rattled the memory sector. South Korean brokerage KIS published a Q2 2026 profit estimate for SK Hynix that was 8% below consensus, citing slower-than-expected HBM4 shipments and heavy reliance on HBM contracts. SK Hynix stock plunged 15% in Asia, its largest single-day drop ever, and the KOSPI fell 9%, triggering a 20-minute trading halt. The Roundhill Memory ETF, whose top three holdings Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron represent 73% of net assets, dropped 9%. The declines trimmed only a small slice of year-to-date gains that had reached 243% for Micron, 707% for SanDisk, and 238% for Western Digital through Friday’s close.
