SK Hynix IncSK Hynix's US IPO is oversubscribed and priced above Korea close, indicating strong investor demand

SK Hynix is telling investors it intends to price its US listing at $149 per American depositary receipt, about 3.1% above the Thursday closing price of its common shares in Seoul, according to people familiar with the matter. Each ADR is equivalent to a tenth of a common share, and at that price the offering would raise around $26.5 billion, making it the largest ever first-time share sale in the US by a foreign company, topping Alibaba's $25 billion debut. The sale of 177.9 million ADRs representing 17.79 million common shares is more than seven times oversubscribed, with demand from institutional investors including global long-only funds, technology sector-focused funds, sovereign wealth funds and Asia-focused global investors. The ADRs are set to begin when-issued trading Friday on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol SKHYV, changing to SKHY when regular-way trading starts July 13. Deliberations are ongoing and details could still change, the people said.
