Smart IOPS and H3 Platform have announced a jointly developed AI Compute Storage solution designed to deliver up to one billion random IOPS. The solution pairs Smart IOPS' Unobtanium T50 solid-state device, which targets up to 50 million random-read IOPS per drive, with a new H3 Platform appliance that houses 20 such drives alongside four NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and four NVIDIA ConnectX-8 network cards. The system is being engineered for NVIDIA's Storage-Next initiative and SCADA programming model to enable GPU-initiated storage access for data-intensive AI inference workloads. Evaluation samples and systems are expected in the first quarter of 2027, with production planned for the second quarter of 2027.
