SMBC Aviation Capital orders 100 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes, boosting Boeing's order book.

SMBC Aviation Capital has placed an order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes, comprising 60 737-10 and 40 737-8 jets. The order lifts the lessor's owned, managed, and committed 737 MAX portfolio to 450 aircraft. Boeing highlighted that the 737-10 offers the best per-seat economics of any single-aisle airplane, seating up to 230 passengers with a range of 3,100 nautical miles. In pre-market trading on the New York Stock Exchange, Boeing shares rose 1.04 percent to $216.30.
