Record net income, upgraded ROTE target, increased buyback and dividend

Societe Generale reported a record Group net income of €3.5 billion for the first half of 2026, up 13.9% from the same period last year, and upgraded its 2026 return on tangible equity target to around 11%. The bank also announced an extraordinary share buy-back of €1.5 billion and an interim cash dividend of €0.75 per share, a 23% increase over 2025. Group revenues rose 2.4% to €14.2 billion, while operating expenses fell 5.0%, bringing the cost-to-income ratio to 59.7%. The Common Equity Tier 1 ratio stood at 13.2% at the end of the second quarter, about 290 basis points above the regulatory requirement.
