Suzhou Sonavox Electronics Co. Ltd. ANet profit down 53% due to FX losses, despite revenue growth.

Sonavox Electronics released its 2026 interim report on August 27. Operating revenue for the period reached 1.424 billion yuan, up 4.23 percent year on year, but net profit attributable to the parent came in at only 40 million yuan, down 53.07 percent, showing higher revenue without higher profit. The decline was mainly driven by currency swings. In the first half, a fall in the US dollar and euro exchange rates led to a foreign exchange loss of about 25.16 million yuan, compared with a foreign exchange gain of about 41.06 million yuan in the same period last year. The swing of nearly 66 million yuan eroded profit. The company's main products are in-car speaker systems, amplifiers and acoustic vehicle alerting systems. During the reporting period, it newly won project nominations from NIO, Geely and overseas customer Yamaha, and high-end products such as diamond tweeters entered mass production and delivery. Net cash flow from operating activities was 91 million yuan, up 47.11 percent year on year, and the issuance of convertible bonds strengthened its capital reserves. R&D spending rose 9.52 percent year on year to 93 million yuan, lifting its share of revenue to 6.51 percent.
