Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Class A Common StockStock surged nearly 50% in three days after record IPO and announcement of $60 billion stock deal to buy AI startup Cursor.

Investors who booked quick profits on SpaceX’s record-breaking IPO are regretting selling too soon after the stock surged nearly 50% in its first three trading days. Allen Tran, who runs the HaiKhuu Trading community, bought shares on the first day of trading and sold the same afternoon for a small five-figure gain, but estimates he left about $60,000 on the table by not holding. The stock priced at $135 a share in the largest IPO on record, raising about $86 billion, and closed its first full day around $161 before climbing past $200. A 4.8% pop on Tuesday pushed SpaceX past Amazon to become the world’s fifth-largest public company by market value, fueled by its announcement of a $60 billion stock deal to buy AI-coding startup Cursor. Among IPOs that raised more than $10 billion, only Rivian had a better three-day start, according to FactSet data cited by The Wall Street Journal.
