Tesla IncSpaceX stock has fallen about 24% over three consecutive losing sessions, with shares trading near $147.50 after peaking above $225. Mariner Wealth Advisors chief investment strategist Jeff Krumpelman advised investors to think more like Woody from Toy Story than Buzz Lightyear, noting that IPOs with over 40 times sales, more than $100 million in revenue, and losses tend to underperform in the three years post-IPO — criteria that SpaceX meets. The company's market cap has dropped to roughly $1.95 trillion, erasing over $600 billion, after briefly surpassing $3 trillion and eclipsing Amazon and Microsoft just a week ago. Krumpelman also highlighted that SpaceX is raising another $20 billion, and much of the $105 billion raised through capital markets is for corporate purposes rather than solely for Mars missions. Separately, Wall Street analysts, including Wedbush's Dan Ives, see an 80% chance that Tesla and SpaceX will merge next year, driven by converging interests in AI and data centers in space.
