Spinnaker Support announced new PostgreSQL offerings aimed at helping enterprises reduce Oracle database dependency and modernize without new vendor lock-in. The company, which says it is trusted by more than 1,300 organizations in 104 countries, said the announcement includes two primary offerings plus continued development of an enterprise distribution for PostgreSQL. The first, Enterprise Software Support for PostgreSQL, delivers 24x7 enterprise software support for standard PostgreSQL and vetted open-source components across on-premises, virtualized, containerized, and cloud environments. The second, Assessment and Migration Services for PostgreSQL powered by HexaCluster, helps organizations evaluate workload fit, analyze Oracle database dependencies, accelerate conversion, validate production readiness, and execute controlled cutovers with rollback planning, using HexaCluster's HexaRocket migration, data movement, and replication technology. Spinnaker also confirmed it is developing an enterprise distribution for PostgreSQL that is not yet generally available, and announced the promotion of Martin Biggs to vice president and general manager of its PostgreSQL Practice. CEO Matt Stava said the offerings give customers a trusted, lower-risk path to standard, non-proprietary PostgreSQL backed by 24x7 mission-critical support.
