Akeso IncAkeso reported a statistically significant overall survival benefit for ivonescimab in HARMONi-2, strengthening its case.

Summit Therapeutics announced that partner Akeso reported a statistically significant overall survival benefit for ivonescimab monotherapy over pembrolizumab in a prespecified interim analysis of the Phase 3 HARMONi-2 trial. The study enrolled 398 patients in China with previously untreated, PD-L1-positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Overall survival was a secondary endpoint, and while the earlier analysis showed a progression-free survival hazard ratio of 0.51, Summit did not disclose the survival hazard ratio, confidence interval, or median survival. The result strengthens the case for ivonescimab, but its magnitude and global transferability remain unclear, with HARMONi-7 testing the drug in a broader population.
