Sunshine Biopharma has received regulatory approval to introduce its 2mg generic Dienogest tablets in Canada, targeting first-line therapy for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis. The drug is the direct generic equivalent of Visanne and will be distributed exclusively through the company's wholly owned Canadian subsidiary, Nora Pharma, with shipments to retail pharmacies expected by the end of 2026. The global Dienogest market was valued at $2.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $5.2 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 7.8%, according to Dataintelo. Canada accounts for roughly 2.1% of the global pharmaceutical market and is ranked sixth-largest worldwide, per IQVIA Pharmafocus 2028.
