Synopsys IncSynopsys certifies its AI EDA software for Intel's 14A node, expanding its advanced design capabilities.
Synopsys has certified its AI-powered electronic design automation software for Intel's upcoming 14A manufacturing process, extending a collaboration that already covers Intel's 18A and 18A-P nodes. The certification, announced at the DAC Chips to Systems Conference, integrates power, thermal, and electromagnetic analysis into the design flow and extends Synopsys's 3DIC Compiler platform to support Intel's EMIB and EMIB-T advanced packaging. New interface IP tied to the node, including PCIe 7.0 and 224G SerDes, aims to accelerate chip tapeouts. The move deepens Synopsys's position in advanced chip design, though the company is navigating margin pressure from its $35 billion Ansys acquisition and multiple class-action lawsuits.
