Synopsys announced new autonomous agentic AI workflows for chip design, developed with Microsoft and available for evaluation on Microsoft Discovery, with AMD actively evaluating them for next-generation products. The company introduced two workflows: a fully-autonomous debug closure workflow that initial results show can reduce debug cycle time by 25 to 40 percent, and a fully-autonomous implementation and closure workflow that improves quality of results. These are the first EDA applications available on Microsoft Discovery, building on a previously announced agentic specification-to-RTL workflow. Synopsys is showcasing the workflows at the 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference, where customers can request evaluation access.
