Samsung Electronics Co LtdHyperscaler AI capex drives memory demand for Samsung.
Visible Alpha Head of TMT Research Melissa Otto stated that consensus expectations show no slowdown in technology sector momentum, with continued upward revisions driven by strong AI infrastructure spending. The market expects the four major hyperscalers—Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Microsoft—to spend a combined 1.5 trillion dollars in capital expenditures between this year and next year to fuel AI infrastructure. Otto noted that this spending has not been fully recognized by the market and has been driving the memory trade involving SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron. She highlighted Micron as trading at close to six to eight times next year's earnings with over 50% earnings growth, calling it very interesting if capex assumptions hold.
