Tesla IncPartnership with Paper Transport to evaluate Tesla Semi in Chicago, supporting adoption of its battery-electric truck.

Paper Transport Inc. has partnered with Tesla to evaluate the Tesla Semi Long Range in dedicated operations within the Chicago market. The Wisconsin-based trucking company announced the pilot as part of its sustainability strategy to help customers reduce transportation emissions without sacrificing performance, reliability, or cost efficiency. PTI CEO Tyler Ellison said the partnership expands the company's portfolio alongside renewable natural gas and intermodal, giving customers more ways to reduce Scope 3 emissions. The evaluation will take place within PTI's dedicated operating model, where predictable routes and consistent mileage provide an ideal environment for assessing battery-electric performance. Tesla has begun volume production of the Semi this year, with CEO Elon Musk cautioning that output will ramp slowly before accelerating later in the year and into 2027.
