The Thai Chamber of Commerce is urging the government to quickly finalize the Agreements on Reciprocal Tariff, or ART, between Thailand and the United States. Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, said a clear trade framework will reduce business uncertainty and allow entrepreneurs to plan production, investment, and exports with greater confidence. He also called for more Thai goods with high local content, using domestic raw materials and adding value through Thai production processes, to be included in the exemption list. This applies especially to agricultural products, food, agro-industry, fisheries, and pet food, which are Thailand's strengths and linked to many farmers, SME entrepreneurs, and processing industries. Prioritizing goods with high local content also helps retain domestic value addition, supports employment, and strengthens the domestic supply chain, in line with the global economic trend toward regional value chains.
