Thai Prime Minister Welcomes Myanmar President on Official Visit, Accelerating Trade, Energy, and Border Security

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed President Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar on his official visit to Thailand at Government House on August 6, 2026. The two sides held small-group discussions to promote cooperation on cross-border issues, energy, trade facilitation, and border peace, before proceeding to a full meeting attended by Thai ministers and the supreme commander, including Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, and Deputy Prime Minister Supajee Suthamphan. The Myanmar delegation was led by Minister of the President's Office Khin Maung Yee, Foreign Minister Tin Maung Swe, and Energy Minister Ko Ko Lwin, along with the chief ministers of Kayin State and Tanintharyi Region. The visit aims to strengthen comprehensive bilateral cooperation in economic and security dimensions.
