The government announced that Thai researchers have successfully produced a botulinum antitoxin for the first time. The drug, named TRCS Botulinum Antitoxin, has been registered with the Food and Drug Administration. Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploythale Laksameesaengchan stated that this drug reduces the cost from the previous imported price of about 250,000 baht per dose to only about 25,000 baht, a tenfold reduction. This achievement resulted from collaboration among several agencies: the Thai Red Cross Society, the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, the Institute of Biological Products, the National Vaccine Institute, the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, and the National Health Security Office, to include the drug in the public benefits system and elevate Thailand to a hub of pharmaceutical security in the ASEAN region.
