Thermo Fisher Scientific is showcasing new capabilities across manufacturing, clinical development and AI-enabled research at BIO International 2026. The company highlighted expanded sterile fill-finish and device assembly capacity, including an expanded collaboration with SHL Medical at its Ridgefield, New Jersey site, along with added oral solid dose manufacturing and significant additional biologics drug substance capacity in the U.S. and Switzerland. It is launching new GMP monoclonal antibody manufacturing in Plainville, Massachusetts in the second half of 2026 and has expanded its global Bioprocess Design Center network with new facilities in the U.S. and India. On the clinical side, Thermo Fisher expanded digital research capabilities through the acquisition of Clario Holdings, which has supported approximately 70% of FDA and EMA novel drug approvals over the past decade, and is rolling out AI-enabled analytics to improve trial efficiency. The company also announced strategic relationships with NVIDIA, OpenAI, TetraScience and BenchSci to enhance AI-enabled scientific workflows, and through its Accelerator Drug Development program it is helping emerging biotech firms integrate AI, laboratory technologies and development capabilities.
