Thousands of students marched to the Indian parliament in New Delhi on Monday, demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government resolve the education system crisis. The nearly month-long protest is led by the Cockroach Janta Party, which began as an online campaign and has grown into direct criticism of the government. The monsoon session of parliament, which runs until August 13, also features other contentious issues, including a bill to increase parliamentary seats, education reform, and tax law amendments, while opposition parties prepare to debate the government on several fronts, including rising living costs and corruption allegations over the Ram Temple project in Ayodhya.
