Just three Asian funds accounted for around 85% of all private equity funds raised in the Asia-Pacific region in the first half of 2026. PitchBook data show that APAC PE funds raised a total of $47.37 billion, of which $39.2 billion was closed by Baring Asia Private Equity Fund IX at $15.6 billion, Bain Capital Asia Fund VI at $10.5 billion, and Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III at $13.1 billion. These were among the largest vehicles raised for the region in recent years, indicating that limited partners have shifted allocations toward large buyout strategies in a flight to safety. The concentration has benefited established funds, with fewer funds successfully closing this year, though early signs of recovery include rising exit values driven by Hong Kong's IPO market and India's public markets.
