Tidewater IncU.S.–Iran ceasefire deflated energy and shipping stocks, causing Tidewater to slide.

City Different Investments reported that Tidewater Inc. was its biggest detractor in the second quarter of 2026, as the U.S.–Iran ceasefire in June deflated energy and shipping stocks. The firm’s Focused Global strategy returned 7.08% and its Global Equity strategy returned 5.36% during the quarter, trailing the MSCI All Country World Index return of 14.93%. Despite the setback, City Different Investments maintains that the multi-year supply-and-demand outlook for offshore vessels remains favorable. Tidewater closed at $78.09 per share on July 21, 2026, with a market capitalization of $3.88 billion, posting a one-month return of negative 7.14% but a 52-week gain of 35.75%.
