The Tokyo stock market is expected to see a soft start on April 24. Following declines in US stocks the previous day and the Trump administration's announcement of new additional tariffs on 60 countries and regions including Japan, selling is likely to dominate. Japan will face a 12.5 percent tariff, set to take effect at 1:01 PM Japan time on April 24. The yen weakened to the upper 163 range against the dollar, while the yen-denominated settlement price of Chicago Nikkei futures was 65,395, down 955 points from the Osaka exchange settlement price. The expected range is 65,400 to 66,000.
