TotalEnergies has unveiled MethaneLive, a global methane-emission monitoring center that uses real-time data and advanced algorithms to detect, measure, and analyze emissions. The center builds on the deployment of 13,000 sensors across onshore and offshore upstream sites, with digital tools analyzing the data to identify root causes of anomalies and recommend actions. MethaneLive has already detected 35 fugitive methane emissions and enabled corrections through targeted maintenance. The company is also deploying agentic AI solutions to target the highest-emitting equipment and improve detection.
