Transocean has entered into an agreement with Equinor for the use of three harsh environment semisubmersible rigs on the Norwegian shelf, with a total contract backlog exceeding $1 billion over seven rig years. The deal covers the Transocean Enabler for a three-year program starting in the first quarter of 2028, the Transocean Encourage for a two-year program also starting in the first quarter of 2028, and the Transocean Endurance for a two-year program beginning in the second quarter of 2027. The base day rate is $399,000, with adjustment provisions that will push the effective day rate above $400,000 at commencement. All three rigs are Cat D designs originally purpose-built for Equinor and suited for Norwegian winter conditions.
