The Ministry of Transport reports that the Thai-China high-speed rail project Phase 1, from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima, has reached 55.27% progress. Of the 14 civil works contracts, 2 are completed, 10 are under construction, and 2 are in the procurement stage. The target is to open for service in 2030. Meanwhile, preparations are underway to open bidding for Phase 2 civil works, from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai, comprising 8 contracts, within December 2026. The investment budget is 341.35 billion baht. Construction is set to begin in 2027 and finish in 2031, linking the network to Nong Khai and connecting Thailand, Laos, and China.
