President Donald Trump on Thursday celebrated wins for the U.S. chip industry, praising Nvidia Corp.'s robust revenue guidance and Micron Technology Inc.'s new $10 billion research investment as proof that his policies are drawing trillions in domestic investment. In a Truth Social post, Trump called Nvidia's second-quarter results "incredible numbers," congratulating CEO Jensen Huang. Nvidia reported second-quarter revenue of $96.22 billion, up 106% year over year, with third-quarter guidance of $108 billion and fiscal 2028 revenue growth guidance of 70%. In a separate post, Trump called Micron one of the "hottest" companies in the world, highlighting its $10 billion investment in research labs, which adds to its earlier $250 billion commitment to U.S. manufacturing. The praise comes as the administration considers new semiconductor tariffs that could extend to laptops, gaming consoles, and data center servers, with tech companies lobbying against the proposal. Trump's earlier disclosure showed multiple Nvidia and Micron transactions, and his most recent disclosure reported selling between $15,001 and $50,000 of Nvidia stock on June 23.
