The administration of President Donald Trump is preparing to revoke temporary B1 and B2 visas held by foreign nationals who entered the United States as tourists or business travelers but later applied for asylum, a move that could affect as many as 200,000 visa holders. If carried out, it would be the largest visa revocation in U.S. history. The measure covers visas issued between 2016 and 2026 for people who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum. Those whose visas are revoked will not be deported immediately, but they will lose their business or tourist visa status. The U.S. State Department said that since the Trump administration took office, it has already revoked more than 175,000 visas held by foreign nationals.
