Trump to Meet Leaders of Six GCC Nations to Chart Post-Iran War Strategy

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council, or GCC, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, or UNGA, in New York on Tuesday, September 22, to discuss the next steps in the war with Iran, with the focus expected to be on the US concept for a post-war strategy. Trump will meet with leaders or foreign ministers from the six GCC member states, namely Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. The US State Department already sent preliminary invitations last Wednesday. Sources said Trump and his senior team are drafting a post-war management plan, which is expected to be finalized after the US midterm elections. Meanwhile, Israeli sources said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also wants to meet Trump during his visit to New York, but no meeting has been scheduled so far.
