Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.TSMC expresses confidence in long-term AI chip demand growth, which drives its core business.

TSMC remains confident that demand for AI chips will grow strongly over the long term, while increasing its investment in the US state of Arizona to a total of 265 billion dollars. Wendell Huang, TSMC's chief financial officer, said the Arizona projects are on track, with the first fab already in production and achieving yields comparable to the company's main fabs in Taiwan. The second fab is in the equipment installation phase, the third is under construction, and preparations have begun for a fourth fab and the first advanced chip packaging plant in the US. Once all are completed, TSMC will have a total of 12 advanced manufacturing and packaging fabs in Arizona, along with one research and development center. At the same time, the company continues to invest in Taiwan, with plans to build new chip fabrication plants and 13 additional advanced packaging facilities over the coming years.
