Amazon.com IncAI boom boosts data center demand, with Amazon among four tech giants investing $700B this year.

The preliminary US real GDP for the April–June quarter rose 1.5% from the previous quarter. While growth slowed due to a decline in exports, personal consumption surged 3.2%, and business investment remained strong at 8.4%. Against the backdrop of the AI boom, data center demand is boosting investment, and the combined AI investment plans of four major tech companies, including Amazon, reach 700 billion dollars this year. Meanwhile, the June PCE price index increase slowed to 3.7%, but caution is mounting over a potential crude oil price spike and rekindled inflation due to escalating military conflict between the US and Iran. Some in the market are now expecting the Fed to proceed with a rate hike in September.
