Schumer claimed that since returning to the presidency, Trump personally has earned over 2 billion dollars and his family over 4 billion dollars in income or financial benefits, and he called for tracking and recovering the flow of funds. The bill also includes provisions for an independent funding source to prevent presidential interference, and a mechanism to appoint interim commissioners in the event of dysfunction.
