NVIDIA CorporationUS eases export controls for UAE, removing individual licensing for Nvidia AI chips, expanding market access.

The US Commerce Department announced on the 10th that it is easing export controls for the United Arab Emirates. This will allow the UAE government and certified companies to procure certain items, including Nvidia's advanced AI semiconductors, servers, and dual-use technologies, without obtaining individual export licenses. Under the new framework, eligible parties include UAE AI firms G42 and Core42, as well as US companies operating in the country and their subsidiaries, such as Amazon, Apple, and xAI. The UAE has been added to a group of countries and regions eligible for license exceptions under Commerce Department export controls, making it the only country not participating in multilateral export control regimes to receive such treatment. The Commerce Department also indicated it would review favorably export license applications for semiconductors and servers submitted by UAE investment firm MGX.
