The US International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into Samsung Electronics memory chips and products from Google, Nvidia, Broadcom, and Super Micro Computer that use those chips, over suspected patent infringement. Netlist alleges that Samsung and its US subsidiary infringed DRAM-related patents, and is seeking an import ban and a halt to US sales of the disputed chips and products. The ITC will set a target date for completing the investigation within 45 days. Samsung, Google, Nvidia, Broadcom, and Super Micro Computer did not respond to Reuters requests for comment.
