The Institute for Supply Management's June non-manufacturing composite index came in at 54.0, edging down from 54.5 in May. The new orders index fell to 55.1 from 57.3 the previous month, but the order backlog index rose. The prices paid for inputs index dropped to 67.7 from 71.3, as falling crude oil prices following a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran slowed the pace of services inflation. The employment index climbed to 51.2 from 47.9, returning to expansion for the first time in three months.
