The United States has revealed that the volume of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz in a single day exceeded 17 million barrels, the highest level since the Iran war began in late February. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that if oil exported via pipelines in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which bypass the strait, is included, the total volume would be higher than the pre-war level of nearly 20 million barrels per day. However, the US government's figures still differ from data from TankerTrackers.com, which estimated that only 9.14 million barrels left the Arabian Sea on August 31. Some vessels used nighttime navigation and turned off AIS signals, which may cause tracking discrepancies. Brent oil prices remain near $95 per barrel amid risks of confrontation between the US and Iran.
