FPT, Vietnam's technology giant, is expanding its business in Thailand through partnerships with CP Foods, SCG, and Amata to develop artificial intelligence solutions for the industrial sector, with AI demand in Thailand expected to grow at a double-digit annual rate. One key collaboration is the signing of a memorandum of understanding with CP Foods last May to develop smart farms at its subsidiary's facilities in Vietnam, aiming to cut operating costs by around 20 percent and upgrade food safety traceability systems to full coverage by the end of this year. Additionally, FPT is working with Amata Corporation to develop smart manufacturing and smart city systems in Amata's industrial estates in Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos, while also teaming up with SCG to develop next-generation AI for SCG's technology platform to reduce costs and boost factory efficiency across Southeast Asia. Trials have already begun in the cement business, with discussions underway to expand into chemicals and packaging. FPT University is also collaborating with Chulalongkorn University on research and workforce development in quantum AI, following Chulalongkorn's launch of Thailand's first Quantum Engine last June.
