Visa Inc. Class AVisa joins BLOOM to pilot stablecoin settlements, potentially shaping interoperability standards and strengthening competitive position.

Visa has joined BLOOM, a Monetary Authority of Singapore-led initiative connecting traditional payment infrastructure with stablecoin-based rails, and will pilot stablecoin settlement with Nium using regulated U.S. dollar- and euro-backed stablecoins. The pilot aims to enable seven-day-a-week settlement, including weekends and holidays, addressing delays in conventional business-day cycles. Visa reported an annualized stablecoin settlement run rate of $7 billion in April 2026 and supports nine blockchains. The initiative remains at pilot stage but could help Visa shape interoperability standards and strengthen its competitive position. Competitors Mastercard and American Express are also expanding stablecoin and blockchain capabilities. Visa shares have risen 9.6% over the past year, and the Zacks Consensus Estimate implies a 14.7% earnings jump for fiscal 2026.
