Several South Korean companies listed as partners in the upcoming OUSD stablecoin have denied any formal agreement, creating confusion around the project. The issuer, Open Standard, announced plans to launch OUSD later this year with support from around 140 global companies, including Visa, Mastercard, BlackRock, Google, and Samsung Electronics. Earlier, Bloomberg News reported that Visa, Bank of New York Mellon, and Stripe were among the financial firms that had partnered to launch a stablecoin, with plans to integrate it into their systems once it goes live later in 2026. The situation was highlighted by ChosunBiz on July 3, noting that some Korean firms were surprised to find themselves listed as consortium members without having made a formal commitment.
