Visa Inc. Class ACredit Card Competition Act poses regulatory threat to Visa's dominant position.

Visa stock has fallen 2% this year, underperforming the S&P 500's 9% gain, as the world's largest credit card network faces headwinds from stablecoins, the Credit Card Competition Act, and slowing cross-border volume. In the fiscal second quarter ended March 31, revenue rose 17% year over year and adjusted earnings per share climbed 20%, but the market is focused on threats to its dominant position. Visa processed more than $17 trillion in payments last year across over 330 billion transactions, partnering with 14,500 financial institutions. The stock now trades at a price-to-earnings ratio just under 30, slightly below its three-year average of 31 and well below its 10-year average of 35, which some investors view as a fair price for a high-quality business.
