Vulcan Materials CompanyNAFTA tribunal awarded negligible damages despite finding Mexico violated trade pact, failing to provide meaningful remedy for quarry shutdown.

Vulcan Materials Company announced that a NAFTA tribunal found Mexico violated the trade agreement in several respects but awarded negligible monetary damages. The decision, issued today, stems from an arbitration Vulcan filed in 2018 over Mexico's repudiation of an agreement to unlock a portion of the company's aggregates reserves and the arbitrary shutdown of its quarrying operations in that country. The tribunal's award of monetary damages to Vulcan for Mexico's violations was negligible. The decision will remain confidential until it becomes publicly available under applicable rules. Vulcan will host its second quarter earnings conference call as previously scheduled on July 29, 2026.
